Havin been to the McCloud Snowflake special last weekend, I thought some of you might like to see a pic of some of the great action provided by the Railroad and the Pacific Locomotive Association. Many photo runbys in waist deep snow with rain and snow mixed made for lots of action. Add to the cranky injectors and green crews on an unfamiliar locomotive and we still got more than we bargained for. Enjoy, Jeff Badger  btflco@aol.com |

Jeff! Great picture! Brings back a memory from only a week ago. Of course, right after that runby was one of the famed snowball fights: photo line vs. observation car riders! Yes, the 18 did prove to be a bit cranky that day. She had every right to be forced into yeoman duty after a years long snooze only interuped by the previous day's shakedown of only five miles and light! On the shakedown, it was discovered that five or six tube were leaking into the firebox. A crew literally worked an all-nighter to weld the ends to a rather warped sheet...Three cheers for a welding crew that jumped in as soon as the fire bricks had cooled to at least liveable! Jeff, any shots of the runby of the plowing of the siding?
