The Reading Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad (RBMNRR) recently purchased five ex Grand Trunk Railroad (GTRR), nee Detroit Toledo & Ironton Railroad (DT&IRR) SD-38's. Four out of the five units are in operation on daily freight service (The unit not in service should be operating soon!). The units mainly operate on the RBMNRR's old Reading Main line from Reading to Mt. Carmel,Pa.. This line is commonly referred as the '' Reading Cluster ''. The units also operate on the RBMNRR's Lehigh Line. The units have not been transferred out of the Grand Trunk paint scheme, yet! But the Grand Trunk Lettering is painted over. If you get a photograph of the units head on they look like Grand Trunk units on normal, daily freight! If you go to the RBMNRR's web site (www.rbmnrr.com) you can see photographs of these magnificant units on active service. Plus you can see the rest of all the wonderful RBMNRR's diesel power, steam power, RDCs', and coaches.
