Orange Empire RR Museum in Perris CA. has SP1006 SW-1. We are just beginning the process of planning its restoration and would like to obtain as much technical information as possible. We would especially like to obtain an early 1940's EMC parts book plus any mechanical data on the locomotive. It was manufactured in November of 1939. Also, I would like to hear from anyone that has detailed knowledge on the dry sump to wet sump 567 prime mover conversion that was recommended by EMC and accomplished on most pre 1945 SW-1s. What did they do and why did they do it?

I would contact the guys at the B&O Museum in Baltimore, as they have Pere Marquette #10, which was an SW-1 of the same vintage I believe. She is still operable, so someone has to have a pretty good working knowledge of her.
