Word around Dallas is that the city of Grapevine is going to replace the rear tube sheet of the 2248, do all of the form 4 work, install new tubes, rebuild the running gear, renew the brake system, and get new pony and tender truck wheels installed for just over 100k. According to the Dallas Morning News, Scott Lindsey is to supervise the work. I know that Scott is one of our best steam guys, but if he can do all that poor old ten wheeler needs for that kind of money, I have a few gallons of water that I would like converted to wine. |

Forget the wine, I've got a static display I'd like converted into a running CB&Q 4-6-4! Kevinmccabe@avenew.com |

Given Scott is overseeing the job, it means that the project has a much better chance to succeed. hi-plains@juno.com |
