The "Homecoming Excursion" for the SP&S 700 has not only rare steam mileage, runbys, etc. set up, but also has scheduled evening mixer events at the Headquarters Hotels with guest speakers. The Pacific Railroad Preservation Association is happy to announce at least two of our guest speakers are Mr. William Greenwood, past CEO of the Burlington Northern Railway, and Mr. David Goodheart of Goodheart Video. Exact appearance dates still to be confirmed. Ticket information for the April 20-23 excursion is available from the PRPA website at www.sps700.org or by calling 503-649-6602. 1,2,3 or all 4 day seating is still available in some classes, Dome is sold out all four days, Coach is sold out for Day 1. http://www.sps700.org johnpcox@juno.com |

John, It is wonderful to hear that you have manged to line up Bill Greenwood to speak during one of the nightly events. I had the great pleasure of meeting him two years ago in Atlanta during Intermodal Expo at a banquet hosted by Amtrak's Mail & Express group. It was insightful hearing him discuss the industry during diner then. I was re-introduced to him at the 2000 RPCA convention in Chicago as Kathy Louth and Ed Ellis managed to get him as the keynote speaker for that banquet. For those who have not heard him speak, they are in for a treat from someone who would be good medicine for big railroading, especially the NS. I can tell you that we are very proud of the committments we have for the Homecoming Excursion of the SP&S 700. Both Mr. Greenwood and Mr. Goodheart are excellent speakers and have many different comments to make about their interests in the railroad industry - both from the corporate and railfan side.
