Yesterday (April 5), I was driving on I-75 between Cincinnati and Dayton and I saw a large flatbed truck with a steam locomotive boiler and running gear on it. The cab and boiler jacket were removed, there were no identifying marks that I could see, and it appeared to be an 0-6-0. (Best guess; any leading or trailing trucks were removed for the trip.) It was headed northbound (Possibly toward Dayton, Toledo, or Detroit?). Can anyone shed light on it's identity and destination?

Rob,

The locomotive you saw was ex-Bluegrass Railroad Museum #63, ex-Gulf States Paper #63. BGRM sold it the the group that runs the Kokosing Gap Trail , a 14-mile section of ex-PRR right of way between Mount Vernon and Danville, OH. to be put on display with their ex-C&O caboose at gambier, Ohio. The locomotive itself is an 1940 0-6-0 Alco.
