Post subject:  Answer to Aaron B's WK&S question

Aaron B. posted a now-deleted question on how the isolated Wannamaker Kempton & Southern RR at Kempton, Pa. receives and sends out equipment. He asked specifically about 2-6-2 250 and 0-4-0T 3.

Since 1972 all equipment coming to or leaving the WK&S has done so by truck. The section of the Reading's S&L branch south of Kempton to Evansville was abandoned after 1972 (the WK&S picked up the first 1.5 miles south of Kempton at that time) and the tracks were removed. 250 left by rail on her own wheels before the tourist line was isolated. 0-6-0T 65 also arrived at this time by rail and I believe was the last rail movement before the tracks were taken up. 0-4-0T 3 left for Patterson, NJ by truck in 1978.
