It is with great regret that I must spread the word that the management a Steamtown has decided to cancel the mainline excursion scheduled with CN 3254 on May 19. It came as a great shock to me, after months of planning on the part of myself and several current Steamtown employees.

Quite frankly I'm embarrassed. I've talked this trip up for quite some time, only to have the excursion arbitrarily cancelled. Seems the Steamtown management did not like the projected sales for the excursion (which were not great, but not dismal). By the way, CN 3254 is still scheduled to make a run for school groups only to Tobyhanna the preceding day.

The Night Photo session with CN 3254 and the DL&W 426 locomotives is still on. Its too bad, this could have been one hell of a weekend.

P.S. Those who faithfully bought tickets should call 570-340-5204 for a refund. Don't be too mean to the folks at the ticket office, they didn't have anything to do with the cancellation either.....
