Can anyone tell me where I can buy really nice railroad looking pin striped overalls like the ones every steam locomotive engineer wore every day of their illustrious career?

I heard just recently (while I was searching for an Oshkosh dealer) that "Oshkosh Be Gosh" was not making "grown-up" sized overalls anymore.
That is a real let down, I always thought they looked really good on a train crew.

I searched the Transquip website and did not see any, so I sent an email. Their email address is broken.

Thanks for you help
David

I saw some last week (Dickies brand) at the local Orchard Supply Hardware store, but if you don't live in California this won't help. I also found a web site that sells Pointer brand bib overalls at both striped and plain blue

Pray tell, what would the URL for this website be?

Farm & Fleet in Illinois and a couple neighboring states carry hickory stripe coveralls.

Try JCPenny. They are in the website now.

At the homepage, click on "men's" then "workwear", then "overalls" to the right. Hickory stripe is the first thumbnail listed. There are other styles available also.

Oshkosh still makes overalls in mens sizes. Go to www.oshkoshbgosh.com, the hickory striped overalls are on sale for $30. That's cheaper than the off-brands at Wal-Mart!

The topic of this thread has come up before. I would like to know about the quality of the "newer" OshKosh. I have heard from one source that they are more of a "dress-up" overall of a lighter weight denim, not as well reinforced/riveted at the seams, stress points, etc.--can anyone confirm or refute this?

Personally, I am currently using Key Brand (solid indigo and hickory striped) obtained through a local farm supply store here in Utah.

In the earlier threads (pardon the pun!!) the Pointer Brand was mentioned along with a Roundhouse Brand out of Oklahoma (?).

I have several recently purchased. They have some design improvements as well as problems. The denim is more than you need to run a commercial sandblaster. The new style gallus (suspenders) fittings like to break in the bends. which was opposite of the old problem of the rivet tops breaking. All in all, I like them as well, if not better than, the older ones. I would love to have some Lees though.
