According to ground reports, one of the last runs of the Bigg Easy Steam Train operation had to be cancelled today due to a "hung Injector." now my money is on a stuck check valve, but whatever happened, the fire was killed and the train had to be rescued. Only thing that concerns me is did they leave with only one injector operable? THe report on railspot.com stated that the fire was dropped to avoid explosion, alarming language in anyone's book. The last thing we need is another half A**ed operator blowing down a crown and bringing down the fed. In other words WE NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED

I got an email from a friend down there who ascribes the problems to a stuck right side check valve, balky left side check valve, and balky left side injector.

Pretty embarrassing to have both sides go down at once.

It does kind of make you question the quality of the locomotive restoration they did when these simple reliability tests are failed in very non intensive service. I had heard good things about it until now. Sure glad I don't have to try to sell it.

I do hope they started the day with both injectors working properly. Violation of 230.57 carries a substantial civil penalty. I think that stems from the Gettysburg incident.
