Well folks, after a months worth of disappointments and mechanical problems up here in Scranton, we have a bright spot. Steamtown's ex CN 2-8-2 3254 finally made a revenue trip a full month after being lit up. On Friday May 11, after several test runs, the CN 3254 was tied on to the 3pm "shuttle" run at Steamtown. The engine was used for the entire weekend and worked well. She ran out of time and went down for a 30 day inspection Sunday afternoon, but will return this Friday hauling an excursion to Tobyhanna PA. This trip on May 18 was to be for school children only, but was opened up to the public after the abrupt cancellation of the May 19 public trip to Tobyhanna. The night photo session on the 19th, as well as a host of other special activities are still scheduled for the up coming weekend. Go to
