Montreal's AMT has recently removed the 800-series commuter coaches from service and they are now stacked (together, but not on top of each other) off-rail (but with trucks attached) at a railcar rebuilding facility in LaSalle. This facility is next to the 20 freeway, attatched to the big GE plant there. They appear to have been so placed by a big fork lift, but it is unclear if they were damaged in doing so. Before withdrawal, most were in good, usable condition. Though converted to electric heat, etc., they are steam-era Canadian Pacific coaches, having been built in 1953 to replace the old wooden cars in commuter service at that time. Anyone know more about what is happening with them?http://www.amt.qc.ca/corpo/Appro/appel/AMTI04CB-0617-000_en.asp
