Has anyone heard anything about the Reader Railroad? I'm just curious. Their engines are around and I know they used to run a tourist operation, but what has been going on lately?

Thanks,

Stuart

It's been defunct for at least 10 years now.

Reader #4 (former W. T. Carter & Bro. #4), a 2-6-2, was sold off to the Mt. Dora Scenic Railway in Florida where she is now operating. See the link below.

Anyone have some photos of how the Reader site looks today? I think readers would find them interesting.

Reader RR did not sell anything t o Mount Dora scenic, contrary to what some of Florida Foamers may believe. The Number 4 is only leased, for a short period of time I might add, and still under the propriertorship of Reader Railroad. AS for the rest of the equipment, they are all in the midst of the manditory FRA work

I took some photographs about 4 or 5 years ago. I included the link below, it is at http://www.pernet.net/~james1/reader/.

At that time, #4 had just returned from a film shoot, and had not yet gone north to work briefly on a shortline railroad before going to Florida.
