Hello, Does anyone out there know where you can find a current copy of the FRA CFR 49 Part 230 Regulations for Steam Locomotives. I have been able to find them as broken .pdf files but not as a whole with the forms and the drawings in them. I'm looking for the whole thing as one .pdf file. I have the .pdf of the regulations released on Nov. 17 1999 but I'm sure there have been updates since then. If someone could clue me in on where to find this it would be a great help. Thanks.

Call the FRA Mechanical Specialist in the Washington DC office and ask for one -or request one on the fra.gov web site.

Here is a link to the page within the simmons boardman website from which one can purchase the reg book for $12.50 http://www.transalert.com/cgi-bin/detai ... SLI&cat=20 . Last I checked it was not available thru the fra(the sent me to Simmons Boardman), hope that has in fact changed.

I should state, right off, that I am a satisfied Simmons-Boardman customer and have no financial relationship with them, other than paying list pricefor their publications when I buy 'em. In terms of their various releases of the various regulations, one of the things I really like about them, is they won't sell you one if it's not current.
