The discussion below about dry cells reminds me I need to work on some Edison cells in a trolley car we are working on. Where can I find information about maintenance of Edison cells? I found a web site with technical information on how Edison cells work, but I need more basic information on recommended ways to clean the terminals, make sure the plates and electrolyte are in good condition, how to charge and test them, etc.

About a year ago I ran into a small booklet on the care and feeding of Edison Cells at the Orange Empire RR Museum. I'll see if I can find it again and if so will make a copy for you. Contact me via the E-Mail address above if you still need it.
