I am pretty sure the George-Knysna Line along the Indian Ocean still sees steam. Lovely line with 2-8-4's. I was in SA in 77 and 84...great stuff, if you can find some operating steam. Be careful there as there is a lot of theft. Sift through this site by Rob Dickinson, and try some S. Africa pages, and contacts there.
