Being an individual who works in this industry as a profession, and uses this Board as a means of keeping up on many different things going on, I would appreciate all those so inclined to do so to kindly send any updates/information to me offline since it seems to be unsuitable for this board). I am especially interested in things pertaining to the boiler certification since the loco has not had a 1472 day inspection.......at least not in this country. Please send info to jasonsobczynski@yahoo.com |

With all due respect to both the "survivors" and the recently departed moderator, I have yet to either 1) read anything profoundly "libelous" enough to warrant the actions taken or 2) hear what degree of "unacceptable" discussion prompted said actions.I read skepticism; I read "how the heck do they plan to pull this off, and who are 'they' anyway?"; I read reports from people who attempted to find information on the Tacoma/2100 proposal/announcements from other parties and "back-channel"; I read alleged identity of the principal(s) behind the proposal; and so on..................... but I didn't happen to read anything of a "Mr. 2100-Owner is a con man ripping off people!" or "That locomotive owner is a drug abuser!" or "This trip is a Trilateral Commission plot to enslave us all!" or "It's George W. Bush's fault!" And, rest assured, I've read worse on other forums. Now, it's possible I missed it; contrary to appearances I don't spend every waking hour here. In case I missed some vital slander, I ask the moderators to kindly inform us exactly what touched off this "offensensitivity", to use the word Opus the Penguin in "Bloom County" coined to describe folk who go through life looking to be offended. Only if we understand your disapproval more explicitly can we hope to avoid it in the future.I would be willing to go back to my original rebuttal to Mr. Fritz and discern whether it was appropriate or my apology is in order, but he deleted it, apparently in a fit of pique.I see a "Moderator Wanted" sign in the window.......... dare I apply? Might as well make myself useful here......... |
