I can't resist mentioning that I recently learned the "Dwight D. Eisenhower" originally had my favorite locomotive name: Golden Shuttle. A great piece of symbolism for something with that shape built to race back and forth between textile-mill towns. This engine's appearance in Abilene a few years ago was a superb gesture.
