Description of a search for remains of the Augusta RR in Arkansas, with a photo of its last steam locomotive at the top, currently displayed at a shopping center in Michigan. The very short line used this 2-6-0 into the 1950s.http://www.grnco.net/~tdowler/augusta/e ... .htmlAfter the 2-6-0 was condemned, the line used this small Vulcan gas/mechanical:http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=63118And also this little Plymouth. Both of the latter are now at the Ft. Smith Trolley Museum:http://www.fstm.org/Pics/ARR6.jpgThe Augusta track is said to have been in place and dormant into the 1980s, but was then removed. Two more photo links here:http://www.trainweb.org/arkansastrains/railroad/augusta/augusta.htm |
