According to the Wisconsin Southern Railroad's website (wwww.wsorrailroad.com), the Soo 1003 steam locomotive, a 2-8-2 Alco (vintage 1913) coal burner will attend two upcoming events sponsored by the Wisconsin Southern Railroad. On July 9 in Janesville Wisconsin, Soo 1003 will participate in Wisconsin Southern Railroad's 100th anniversary celebration of the former Milwaukee Road roundhouse. Tours of the roundhouse will be available. On July 23 in Madison Wisconsin, Soo 1003 is expected to pull a series of SHORT trips to help celebrate WSOR's 25th anniversary of operations. I am told that the public is invited to attend these events. I believe that one of the following links will provide our readers with more details.http://www.wsorrailroad.com/events/ann2 ... ilroad.com |

Does anyone know when the ferry moves will take place with 1003? I suspect that the locomotive will be housed at Janesville in the roundhouse between the display dates in Janesville and Madison. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.Don C. |
