All of the remaining "Q" Hudsons are in relatively good shape. Thankfully all of the cities that received CB&Q steam locomotives still have strong enough ties with the history of the railroad that the engines are being maintained. Mendota, IL, Galesburg, IL, and LaCrosse, WI, have museum groups which have taken on the responsibility of painting the locomotives and adding other historical equipment to their displays. One or both of the O5's in Wyoming also display other equipment along with the 4-8-4's as does the beautiful little 4-6-0 that is displayed at the Lincoln, NE, depot. I hope at least one of these display locomotives makes it back to life before I am too old to appreciate it.Don C. |

Saw this locomotive last Labor Day weekend when we stayed there while attending the show at Mt Pleasant. It is in good shape and is next to the depot. |
