Does any body have info on the retrofit of ex Reader 2-8-0 1702's retrofit of a few years ago from plain bearings to roller? I'm curious as to what bearings were used, any modifications to the pedistal jaws, boxes, axles, etc.. I have heard that some of the German 2-10-0's that have been fitted recently with roller bearings have had problems related to the axles being turned down to fit the bearings.

I was told a couple of years ago that GSMR worked closely with a Timken representative to design the retrofit and that it's worked out really well. Other than that, I have no details.
