Post subject:  SP 4-6-0 in Mound House, NV

Mound House, Nevada was a connection between the narrow gauge Carson & Colorado and the Virginia & Truckee, just east of Carson City. For a brief time, however, the line east to the SP's north-south line was standard gauged, and some SP trains ran over the V&T down from Reno, to Carson City and on east to their own route. This connection was removed after the V&T and C&C parted ways, with a new connection north to the SP mainline built. Here is a rare photo showing an SP 4-6-0 from that era at Mound House, which is to be near the new terminus of the current V&T reonstruction.http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/r ... ?11,951765
