1897 0-4-0T Porter, formerly from Duquesne Works, US Steel, of Pittsburgh, and later on display at Station Square outside the P&LE station/HQ in downtown Pittsburgh, now stuffed and mounted along with a four-wheel P&LE wooden caboose in nearby Sewickley, Pa. (between the famous ex-PRR Conway Yard and Pittsburgh). As my first exposure to a steam locomotive during its display at Station Square, those pics bring back some memories. I had wondered what happened to it since Station Square's renovations.Does anyone know if those odd saddle tanks were original or later modifications? They definately don't make her the winner of any beauty pageants!

Speaking of Sewickley, PA, I have had for several years the above wood, cupola, P&LE #? bobber caboose listed for Sewickley along with a caboose reported as "RR? #?, wood, cupola?, address?, Sewickley Heights, PA". Since nobody has ever sent in any additional information on the Sewickley "Heights" car, I'm going to delete that entry tonight on the premise the "2" cabooses reported are 1 and the same, unless, of course, someone can confirm that both buggies exist!Perhaps you will enjoy one of my favorite caboose reports that came to me as: "I saw a steel, cupola, caboose visible from I-70 in Kansas. I don't recall the exact location, but it was west of Topeka." Now, that sort of narrows it down, doesn't it?!Thanks, Roger

Roger, there is another caboose in Sewickley Heights. A few years ago some members of the local NRHS chapter inspected it when the property changed hands. The new owners decided to keep it. Let me see if I can get more info or a photo. Nick D'Amore
