On June 27th, the former Penn Central Business Car 90 will be offered at auction to satisfy a warehouseman's lein for storage charges. The auction will be held at www.transhopnet.com and the high bid may be subject to the approval of the court. The car is a former B&O business car that was purchased by PC to replace the ex-PRR Car 90 (Delaware). The car was stripped at the PC's Wilmington shops and a million dollar interior designed by the architectural firm of Vincent Kling and Assoc., was installed. The car has not moved in almost 15 years and has been stored indoors during that time. It is not AMTRAK certified and only has partial HEP. It has roller bearing, bolted pedestal, six wheel trucks. The car was assigned to David Bevan the CFO of the PC. It is probably the most relative and outstanding piece of PC rolling stock that exists. Check the auction site under "Business Cars" for more details and photographs. The car is being offered "as is", "where is" and any costs associated with preparation for interchange is the responsibility of the bidder. v-scarpitti@worldnet.att.net |

Recently it has been reported that Juniata Terminal has begun to sell off a large portion of their locomotive fleet, The PRR NW-2 to a Chicago leasing company and the GP-9 and slug to the Patapsco and Black River. Will the 4022 be next? |

The recent sale of motive power was an attempt to increase to work space in the terminal. The 4022 is going nowhere. "Let Conrail be Conrail". Hopefully there may be a few new projects and we need the space. The situation with Car 90 is to clearout a "deadbeat" and create some additional floor space. v-scarpitti@worldnet.att.net |
