I recently discovered the Wikipedia (http://www.wikipedia.org). A "free-content' encyclopedia where anyone can edit the information. Makes me wonder to what degree it can be used as a tool to disseminate information about current and past railroad practices, historic information, etc. What would you like John Q. Public to read when he looks up phrases like 'locomotive', 'standard guage', 'New York Central', 'interurban', etc? I've rummaged through some of the railroad related content, and the quality is variable. Some is very good, some is skimpy. The door is open to submit articles on any subject, or add information to existing subjects, as long as it satisfies the free-content agreement.
