Photo of a B&M RDC car lying in the turntable pit at the Boston Engine Terminal. It is said that a released mental patient frequently rode these cars on commuter trains, and studied the actions of the operator. Learning enough to set one into motion, he did so, and stepped off, sending the car toward the unlined table. The table was later removed and replaced with a maze of switches.
