I wanted to seet the #69 before she departs for Alaska, but I heard she was leaving today {July 7th}. Does anybody know is she is underway. I will be close to Northlake, but am hauling machinery and have to keep going, don't have time to stop in and see. Cheers, John. |

Nothing definitive yet on the WhitePassFanList (which comes from Germany), but it is supposed to go by truck to Seattle and then barge to Skagway. Apparently, the repairs are complete, however. |

If she left on Thursday then it was in pieces. I stopped by the shop on Wednesday on my way to Hartford, WI, to see Soo Line #1003 under steam. It appeared that there was quite a bit of work to be done on the locomotive. The tender was outside off of the trucks and the oil bunker was out of the tank. Is the WP&Y going to finish the assembly of the locomotive themselves?Don C. |
