Yadda yadda yadda.Been discussed here and on TO before, will no doubt get discussed every six months until the damned thing falls apart. Add this to the "eternal-limbo aggravations of rail preservation" list along with the EBT quandary, the Medford, Ore. steamers, 614, and the Escanaba & Lake Superior "treasure trove".The somewhat obvious eventual destination for this car would be the B&O Museum, which already has heavily-modified sister 3302 "Edward J. Hooper", a former Baltimore NRHS and Railroad Passenger Cars Inc. car. Rumor has had it for some time that the current owner of this car has actively disliked the B&O Museum for whatever reason, and apparently doesn't want the car to go to them (and these rumors even predate RRP donating the 3302 to the B&O Museum).There are, of course, other potential homes for this car (anywhere from URHS-NJ to RRMusPa to the West Va. Central/RR Museum to the Illinois Railway Museum could somehow justify preservation of this car or addition to the collection). Unfortunately, the move that makes the most sense--a private entity acquiring the Hyndman car and trading a more original relic to the B&O Museum for the more modified/operable 3302--probably ain't gonna happen either.Excuse me while I focus on something that is actually worth my sweat and neurons. |

fyi - Two B&O cars exist in eastern PA. THecombine is one of the cars from the 1946 Cincinnatian."Cars are not in bad shape, but not near any live rail now |
