Been keeping up with the progress of this engine. I was there a couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly suprised when I was shown the new boiler. It is now on the frame and was to be bolted on soon and the drivers put under it after that. The gentleman who gave me a tour was really nice to me and I appreciate his kindess. It will be nice to have another Southern RR. locomotive alive and well. I don't believe that folks who come up on this loco will even notice the new boiler except for the new welded staybolt caps. My understanding is that this practice is now allowed and that there is a weep hole on the other end inside the firebox. What triggered this was the photo's of the 0-6-0 at Williamsgrove PA with its new stay bolt caps of similar design.Any more information on this new type of staybolt cap? Thanks,JD Johnson, Morehead and North Fork Railroad Historian
