CNJ 113, one of two surviving CNJ steam engines (the other is #592 @ the B&0 RR museum in Baltimore) is being restored in Minersville, PAHaving seen the engine in about 1997 and now, its quite amazing the work these folks are doing on this 0-6-0. They are working on the boiler now. The gentlemen that took the time to show me the nature and extent of the work said that they had attempted to find a location to build a shop, but that there was an issue about zoning variances or something. As an aside man, that is an enormous 0-6-0.

I too stopped to inspect the 113 a few years ago (I'm originally from the area,) and I found myself wondering how such an undertaking would be feasible, esp. without a roof over the engine, and no large machinery to speak of. I hate to be a nay-sayer, but despite the efforts thusfar, there are still alot of unanswered questions about how the restoration is going to be finished, and what will happen with 113 when shes done. She IS a huge 0-6-0, by the way. It seems like the town of Minersville hasn't really offered any real support, moreso the absense of resistance.
