A new CD has recently seen the light of. Entitled "Living With Steam" these are from wire recordings (precursor to tape) made in the 1948-1955 era around Buffalo, New York by the late John Prophet III. The railroads featured are New York Central, Pennsylvania, Lehigh Valley (engines here are Alco PA's) and Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo. I was very surprised at the quality of the recordings which speaks well for Mr. Prophet when he made them and for Producer Aaron Heverin in the remastering process. The price listed is $16.95 and $4.95 shipping. The web address for ordering is www.livingwithsteam.com. The website in itself is quite interesting as there are more pictures, maps, etc., of the area and I would assume at least some of the photos may have been done at the same time as the recordings. Once again, I've no financial interest here; just wanting to spread the word about some newly surfaced railroad heritage. Jim HollisHurst, TX
