http://community.webshots.com/album/393603172pLoYXMEx SOU, languishing in New Jersey. That and the following information from railroad.net-"Former MCCRR 2-8-0 No. 385 is indeed stored in the Supor Industrial Park in Harrison, NJ. I stopped by to look at the old gal a few weeks ago. It was the first time I had laid eyes on her since leaving the MCC in 1981 to get marrried. She currently is sitting oustdoors on a panel of track behind some other equipment. Considering that she has been sitting out in the elements all these years she is not in bad shape but mechanically she needs a lot of work. Joe Supor told several people he has no immediate plans for the engine."Joshua |

So what will it take to get the 385 down to Spencer, NC for the restoration, care and love she deserves? |

If the weather holds out tomorrow I'll be trying to get a few more pics for you guys. Venture onto the engineer's side if Supor seems quiet when I take lunch. She is not exactly on a panel of track. There is a customer a little further up on the same sidding that gets tank cars regularly. Probably need to clear a little brush and move some debris though. Oh, and I wouldn't go down to see her on a weekday, my boss, who owns the firelane that I took the shots from really hates people walking around the building. |
