(Requires joining the F Units Yahoo list) Is this the former NP F unit that was kept as a parts supply on the US Steel mining railroad in Wyoming, later sold to the owner of CTC Board magazine? Any revised plans for it?http://photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/f-units/vwp?.dir=/&.src=gr&.dnm=Photographer+unknown---52.jpg&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/f-units/lst%3f%26.dir=/%26.src=gr%26.view=tWhere is this SP&S painted unit? Is it really ex-SP&S?http://photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/f-units/vwp?.dir=/&.src=gr&.dnm=07-29-03+Maurice+King---2.jpg&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/f-units/lst%3f%26.dir=/%26.src=gr%26.view=tWhat/where is this one?http://photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/f-units/vwp?.dir=/&.src=gr&.dnm=AOS+9167---1.jpg&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/f-units/lst%3f%26.dir=/%26.src=gr%26.view=tAnother view, says it is to be painted as an AT&SF unit:http://photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/f-units/vwp?.dir=/&.src=gr&.dnm=AOS+9167+(+to+be+ATSF+49L).jpg&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/f-units/lst%3f%26.dir=/%26.src=gr%26.view=t

The NP F-unit belonged to Dale Sanders and was to be used for an office or something. I don't know its current status. It was also a parts source for WP F7 918. Traction motor cable came from that unit. I believe it was in the Sierra foothills somewhere. Forgot what town. The photo was taken during the late 80's.The primer grey unit is supposed to be painted in ATSF Warbonnet scheme. It's in Texas, I think at Age of Steam. Not sure on that though...

I remember reading the excellent 1980s CTC Board magazine. Here was their headquarters address at that time: 25 Buehler Ave Oroville, CA 95966http://maps.yahoo.com/py/maps.py?Pyt=Tmap&addr=25+Buhler+Ave+&csz=Oroville+CA+&Get%A0Map=Get+Maphttp://tinyurl.com/cza6e--- Daniel

I have found that the best place to ask about the ancestry of locomotives and their current status, is the LocoNotes yahoogroup http://groups.yahoo.com/group/loconotes/There is also a surviving F-units list that is slightly out of date in terms of current status but has complete ancestries for most unitshttp://membrane.com/~elmer/rail/units/f_units.htmlBoth links should be in a FAQ page - as I have metioned them before here several times.Tom Cornillie
