Does anyone have a source for trolley window guards? (covers over a window opening to prevent you from putting parts of your body out the window) Making the bars is no problem, but I'm looking for the cast part that is found on either end of the bars, (typically with three or four holes to install the bars).

I regularly see these on doors in antique-themed restaurants, so apparently someone is making these as reproduction antique hardware. Anybody buy any recently? Thanks.

Don't use them John. They prevent fast exit when the car catches on fire.

Will see if I have any and what copies could be produced for - better, try Steven Torrico at Edwards and see if he has some under way for the Dallas Peter Witt project.

The Peter Whitt car used wire grates attached to the bottoms of the windows that pulled up when you raised the brass window sash. MATA does not like the appearance of the wire grates (makes the car look like a prison vehicle) and will probably supply Edwards with some existing window bars salvaged off of other cars.

Actually they can be easily fabricated by welding 3/8 inch pipe pieces to flat bar stock and using 3/8 inch rods for the bars.

Agreed, but the cast end parts look much nicer and someone is evidently making them up for the house restoration / restaurant supply market- I keep seeing them in restaurants with antique decor, and would like to find the supplier.
