The loco was hired from the RPSI by the track contractors who were relaying the Bleach Green Jn to Antrim line prior to its re-opening a few years ago. The RPSI depot is at Whitehead, only about ten miles from Bleach Green Jn. Besides there are not many spare 5'3" gauge shunt (switch) locos around!Jim L.

I wasn't suprised to see the name of the photographer as he posts a lot on usenet......I'm pretty sure it's an ex-Londonderry Harbour Commission loco which was once fitted with dual gauge couplers so it could haul County Donegal & Lough Swilly stock.G
