With all the discussion here of passenger ships, here's a great website on the Andrea Doria tragedy of 1956. Some friends of ours, immigrating from Italy, were booked for this trip, but had to hold back a week due to illness.http://www.andreadoria.org/

The webmaster, Anthony Grillo, was a passenger aboard the "Doria" that night. Sadly, he has recently succumbed to illness so the updates on the site are irregular, being maintained by his sister. It is an archive of the best images of the sinking and those people involved with it. As an "Andrea Doria" buff myself, I highly recommend it.
