Post subject:  WP 918 restoration photos

Not sure if this link has been posted before, but it has many, many photos documenting the restoration of a Western Pacific F7A that was recently returned to service in California. The WP 918 reminds me of some hard-won knowledge as follows:When one decides to perform an operational restoration on a locomotive, one of the most worthwhile repairs (before the finish paint) is to completely overhaul the sanding system, i.e., NEW sand traps, rebuilt relay valves, clean and re-work sandboxes and associated piping, etc.While the labor component may be significant, the parts involved are relatively inexpensive.Dave
