Has anyone been to the Southeastern Railway Museum lately? I am wondering about the status of A&WP 290. Is she on display or is she tucked away with work being done on her? Thanks,Eric

Andrew might post more timely information, but as of a few months back she was disassembled for a long-term repair. SERM has an ambitious program and she wasn't front-burner at the time, so chances are she is not far along. I am sure if you visit somebody will take you back for a close-up. dave

Hi Eric,Like Dave said, she's still disassembled. Most of our shop forces are concentrated on returning Georgia Power 0-6-0 #97 to service. A plan is in the works for reassembling 290 once manpower becomes available. We are at a point where the most responsible course of action is to wait until we can devote enough volunteers with a well thought out plan to the project. As always, we are happy to accomodate anyone who would like to be escorted to the shop to visit 290.Andrew DurdenSERM
