I have a Pennsy RR ticket box from what I believe is the New Egypt NJ station. It is full of tickets and is in beautiful condition. On the front it has a brass plate with these markings on it:Pennsylvania RR 188U.R.R. of N.J. Div.Dose anyone know what these markings mean?-Eric

United Railroads of New Jersey Division. It must have something to do with the circa 1870 merger or takeover of the Camden & Ambouy RR, Delaware & Raritain Canal, and probably New Brunswick RR into the United New Jersey Railroads and Canal Company, soon swallowed by the PRR on its way to New York Harbor. Leland's Open & Prepay Station List may tell us what PRR station was number 188.
