| Post subject: | Effects of New Orleans disaster on the Rail Industry |
By looking at everything thats been destroyed in New Orleans I can't help but think how it's going to affect the Rail Industry both tourist and freight. One thing, fuel prices are going to skyrocket now, b/c alot of oil comes from that region. But the next thing is INSURANCE. Remember what 911 did to the tourist railroad industry just because of insurance rates increasing. I'm afraid that many small railroads, passenger and freight are going to be strongly affected by insurance rates, maybe some places will close, only time will tell. |
