ImageThis weekend is the Society for the Preservation of Carter Railroad Resources annual Railroad Fair at Ardenwood Farm in Fremont California.This year we have Antelope and Western 1, formerly Sacramento Brick 1,a 1889 Porter 0-4-0t in operation. In addition we have the Horsespulling our 1887 Carter flatcar, and railroad equipment displaysincluding SP 1010 a 1882 passenger car, our 1880's boxcar fleet andour two Plymouths (1923 DL2 and 1960's Hydraulic) on display.The Oakland Museum will be operating their 1905 "BEST" steamtractor.The Bay Area Garden Railways Association (BAGers) will have their largescale toy train layout set up.Author Bruce MacGregor will be available to autograph books, includinghis newest monograph on the South Pacific Coast Railroad's CentervilleBranch.In addition Ardenwood farm offers a chance to tour a 1856 Victorianhome, explore our farm yard and visit the farm animals. The farm is a205 acre Gold rush era farm, operated by East Bay Regional ParkDistrict.Cost is 8.00 for adults, 5.00 for childrenArdenwood is located near the intersection of Highways 880 and 84(Dumbarton Bridge) in Fremont. Hope it goes well, Randy. I think you have a wonderful operation there that works on a lot of different levels, and I hope I can see it myself sometimes soon.
