What was the date of the STB docket for this?It seems to me that reports have circulated of dissent between the operator and the public entity track owner, hense the adverse action. |

Google "Yakima County, WA, STB Docket No. AB-600." That will give you links to the EPA section of the Federal Register. These parts of the register stand out to me: "On January 27, 2004, Kershaw Sunnyside Ranches, Inc. (Kershaw) filed an adverse application under 49 U.S.C. 10903 requesting that the Surface Transportation Board authorize the abandonment by Yakima Interurban Lines Association (YILA) of a portion of the Naches Line, which consists of approximately 11.29 miles of rail line between mileposts 2.97 at Fruitvale, WA, and milepost 14.26 at Naches, WA." "Kershaw indicates that it filed the adverse abandonment application because the line has been inoperable, and there has been no traffic on the line, for approximately seven years."The location and condition of the track are described in detail in the document. Skimming through it I also saw something that said the abandoned line would be "available for subsidy or sale for continued rail use, if the Board decides to permit the abandonment, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations..." |

I was wondering what line Bob was referring to.I've seen this track and it is in bad shape. Washouts, paved over in places, and a lot of obviously bad ties. |
