There's a nearby thread on "Dieseltown" in Scranton. The Delaware-Lackawanna Railroad has an almost 100% Alco/MLW fleet (+ one EMC) and is planning a celebration in August of both the 150th anniversary of the old DL&W and the 100th anniversary of Alco. FYI the trolley museum in Scranton is in an ex-Alco (nee Dickson) building.

The "visitnepa" site has the details.

I asked Donnie Colangelo if this was GERFTOBERFEST for ALCo nuts, just two months early.... :-)
