Post subject:  VINTAGE LOOP FREIGHT-RAILFAN WEEKEND

Railstar is pleased to announce that it will host a railfan weekend on the Georgetown Loop on October 8th and 9th. The Train:The special train will consist of 2-6-2 locomotive No.12, Denver & Rio Grande Western stck car No.5702, D&RGW drop bottom gondola No.718, D&RGW high side gondola No.1089 and D&RGW caboose No.0586, running westbound in that order. The :Georgetown Loop Railroad" sign boards will be removed from the gondolas for this trip. The Denver & Rio Grande Western lettering will remain on the stock car and caboose. The total seating capacity will be 82.Operating Format:The train will depart from Silver Plume at 10:00AM and make two round trips to Devil's Gate during the course of the day. There will be four different photos stop on each of these roundtrips. Passengers will disembark and form a photo line for the photo runby. A box lunch will be included in the price and served at Silver Plume after the first roundtrip. Rest room stops will be made throughout the day at the terminals.8:00 to 10:00AM Tours of the Car Shed10:00 AM to 4:00PM Georgetown Loop Railroad Freight Train5:30 to 7:00PM Evening photo session7:00 PM to ??? Railroad Slide ShowOther Activities:Participants will receive a guided tour of the three original Colorado & Southern cars in the Car Shed at Silver Plume. These cars are C&S baggage/RPO car No.13, C&S coach No.76 and C&S business car No.911 (all three of these cars operated at the 1949 Chicago Railroad Fair) On Staurday evening, locomotives No.12 and No.21 (diesel) will be spotted outside the Silver Plume engine house for nighttime phots. Also on Saturday eveing there will be a narrow gauge railroad slide show at the Georgetown Community Hall.Tickets are $95.00 Reservations are required and can be made by calling: 888-456-6777You heard it here first!
