Kudos to YVT on their upgraded website!

The appeal to movie studios is quite interesting, especially how the museum encourages cinema companies to contact, via direct link, Washington's film bureau. I wonder how many other rail museums have active programs to solicit film and video productions.

Thanks for that link. It was depressing to see the destruction of trolley wire on the Selah line, and all the other out-of-service track. I'm glad that's changing and the trolleys are returning. I found this quote in the newsletter interesting:
Quote:
In preparation for the installation of an alarm in the new overhead wire system, Mark Fredrickson built and wired a relay control box and installed it during our work party on April 4th. This relay system will give precise location to the dispatcher in the event of an attempted wire theft and police will be directed to the thieves’ location. The use of aluminum feeder wire instead of copper, plus the declining price of copper will all combine to lessen the chances that we will suffer any more wire loss in the future.

We've had at least two cases here in Southern California in which copper thieves tried to steal wire from idle buildings. They found out the hard way that the power was still on! The laws of physics are enforced swiftly and permanently!
