I passed by the East End of Penobscot Yard in Mt. Top, Pa, yesterday and some sort of structure is being buit on the Gracedale Avenue side of the tracks. R&N has given this old (CNJ, not much of a yard during LVRR and Conrail days) yard new life by storing and classifying covered hoppers bound for the industries in the Crestwood Industrial Park a few miles east of this location. This structure is rather large, could be a dispatch or office facility. Anybody know what the building will be used for?Must have been something in the 30's and 40's with CNJ steam heading to East w/ strings of hoppers after they were hauled up the "Ashley Plains" from the Wyoming Valley mines

Passed this location yesterday, I'm told by an R&N. employee that it will be the new Yard office at Penobscott yard. Interestingly, it is being built on the style of an interlocking tower like the one at Pt. Clinton. Mr. Muller sure has a grand set of trains!!!Ed K. cp. Laurel Run
