I have been made aware of a group of nine (supposedly) semi-vintage freight cars that are available for preservation or adaptive reuse in the central Maryland region. These cars are a mix of short/medium covered hoppers and flat cars, almost old enough to pass as steam-vintage cars but not quite. Three of the covered hoppers even reportedly have AEI tags on them as I type. The cars need a new home/owner. The current owner has some money tied up in the cars, and is looking for some reasonable cash for the cars FOB central Maryland (call it Baltimore). The cars DO supposedly all have roller bearings and are supposedly all interchangeable at the moment. I've been told scrap value is around $250-400; there's gotta be someone out there that wants some roller-bearing-equipped cars or truck sets.........Does anyone need some freight cars to use for ballast/MOW service, or want some choice freight cars for a photo freight?PM me through this board, or many of you already have my e-mail address.
