At West Lebanon, NH in 1973, by then unused. Later used for salt storage with the turntable removed, it was in much worse shape last I saw. Wasn't there a plan to save this roundhouse (or was the other one) and turn it into a museum?

Some years ago, the group that has restored 4-4-0 494 in White River Jct. had plans for it. They met with a Guilford official, who was cordial at the time, but a week or so later, a scrapper came and cut up the turntable. The roundhouse and adjacent YMCA have been so badly abused and neglected that there is not much hope of saving them now.The CV roundhouse across the river was still in good shape last I knew, and jointly leased out to a trucking company and as a flea market, with the 100-foot table still intact. I think it is still owned by CV Properties, the last vestige of the Central Vermont Railway. I don't know if the group has ever pursued that building seriously or not.

That MIGHT answer my question.....I was wondering why there has been a sudden influx of newly painted CV Boxcars coming through Selkirk Yard. Does this essentially mean that the CV, while trackless, is not actually dead?

The CV boxcars always belonged to CN and they kept them when the railroad was sold to those bums from Texas. Many have been repainted, usually with a website address for CN opposite the wet noodle CV. I guess it was easier to keep the old reporting marks and numbers than the hassle of changing them.

Yes, I agree, many have been repainted, but every now and again, a CN train goes by, with several former CV cars in blue, etc.
