No answers, but here is some additional information and a few more pictures:It had been on display in the City of Richmond. "Blt 1911 by Pullman. Was car for RF&P's president. This car is still on the site, but deteriorated in condition to the point that the City wants to get it off of their hands. It is in very fragile shape. It will have to be removed by truck We know the caboose got saved, in the hands of Russ Dolbear." Hi Everyone,I have gotten some more news on the RF&P business Car.It is my understanding that the car is going to Goshen VA which is east of Lexington VA. The new owner likes getting old railroad equipment and restoring what he can. I will try to verify this information and find out what he plans on doing with it too and will post more here later onAndrew Martin |

The person in Goshen, VA already owns a caboose plus a Shay. Some notes on Shaylocomotives.com indicate that restoration has been considered-how credible that is, I don't know. Goshen is a beautiful spot for train-watching (northwest of Lexington), although it doesn't get a lot of traffic. Link for the Shay notes:http://www.shaylocomotives.com/surviving/0949.htm[/url] |

Stephen, The new owner may be doing the move himself. He owns a lumber co. and a number of trucks, and has moved steam locomotives by truck before. His lumber company has active rail and a couple of EMD switchers on site. |

Hi the link has the contact Phone number for Will Harris who has acquired the RF&P Business car. There is a mistake in the link in the previous post so here it is corrected.http://www.shaylocomotives.com/surviving/0949.htmHe is the owner of several Cabooses and one or two other locomotives besides the two switchers and the Shay. He is very interested in trains and preserving railroading equipment. He has also moved equipment for others too. I dont know what he charges but if you call him you can ask. When I find out what he has planned for the Business car I will keep you all informed.Andrew Martin |
